After publication

Previous page: after acceptance

Our article has been published! What happens now?

Will we be informed when our article has been published?

Yes! We inform all authors by email upon online publication.

Will you promote our work?

Yes! We promote work on social media and via ERS channels such as the ERS Newsletter and our regular press releases. We can’t feature every article in every medium, but we are happy to work with you and your institution to make sure your article reaches the widest audience.

Do you have any advice on how we can promote our work?

We encourage authors to get involved in promoting their content through their own social media channels, and we have provided an extensive guide on social media.

ERS has also partnered with Kudos, to make it easier for you to gain visibility for your work online:

Kudos is a free service through which you can broaden readership and increase the impact of your research by putting your work in a broader context.

Kudos also provides a one-stop shop for multiple metrics relating to your publications: page views, citations, full-text downloads and article-level metrics such as social media activity, Mendeley readership and more.

A brief overview of Kudos can be seen in the following video:

Can we deposit the full-text article on scholarly collaboration networks or our institutional repository?

ERS regards Scholarly Collaboration Networks (SCNs) such as ResearchGate and academia.edu as commercial entities, and as such doesn’t permit full-text articles to be uploaded to them. The exception is articles published under the CC-BY licence, which permits commercial reuse.

ERS supports institutional repositories and “green” open access. All articles published in the European Respiratory Review, ERJ Open Research and Breathe can be posted to your institution’s repository in their final published form. For information about green open access in the European Respiratory Journal, please see http://erj.ersjournals.com/authors/instructions#green_OA

Can we reuse all or part of our article elsewhere?
