Licensing options

What does my licence allow?

Institutions may purchase online access to individual or multiple ERS publications titles for a single site or multi-site access.

Your licence outlines how and from where your library users can access our online content.

Permitted uses:

For the purposes of research, teaching and private study ONLY, authorised users may:

  • electronically save portions of the licensed material. For reference purposes, 5% of a journal issue would be considered to be an acceptable ‘portion’
  • print out a single copy of a portion of the licensed materials
  • for users based within a subscribing pharmaceutical company, a print or electronic copy of the licensed material may be provided for use in national or international regulatory authority submissions

Prohibited uses:

Neither the licensee nor authorised users may:

  • amend or remove any of the copyright information visible on the licensed content
  • systematically make printed or electronic copies of multiple portions of the licensed content for any purpose
  • display or distribute the licensed material on any other electronic network except for the secure network of the subscribing institution
  • allow anyone else except authorised users to access the licensed content
  • use the licensed content for any commercial purpose without permission from the publisher

What licences are available?

1. Single institutional licence

Single institutions are classed as being located within one metropolitan boundary with a single billing address for all subscription purchases.  Pricing options are based around the current list price of the journals. By purchasing a subscription to any of our online publications, you agree to the ERS site licence agreement.

2. Multi-site licence

Pricing is based on consolidation of existing subscriptions (if any), plus any additional sites or titles that may be required. Billing is made to a single billing address on a single invoice.

If you are interested in purchasing a multi-site licence, please contact subscriptions@ersnet.org, detailing the ERS publication title(s) required, the number of sites with their full postal addresses, plus any relevant FTE/bed information at the individual sites.

3. Consortial licence

The ERS publications take part in consortial agreements in some territories via chosen partner sales agents. Licence prices and agreements are negotiated by the representative sales agents in each territory.
